The 125th Anniversary of Nambucca Heads Public School was held over the June Long Weekend in 2009 .
An enjoyable weekend was experienced by all who attended the celebration activities. On Friday evening at the Nambucca Heads Bowling Club 30 to 40 early arrivals met and revived memories of decades ago. Saturday`s Fete was a marvellous success with an estimated 700 people passing through the school during the Fete ,at the official Opening Ceremony or at the opening of the Time Capsule. One hundred guests enjoyed attending the Dinner Dance on the Saturday evening at the Nambucca Heads R.S.L. Club while 60 to 70 children and adults attended the breakfast and games at Bellwood Park on the Sunday morning. It was very interesting to listen to stories of yesteryear by past teachers and students. All visitors had praise for the past and present school staff ,students and community.
Thank you to the dedicated committee who commenced planning 12 months ago for the weekend, without each of you this highly successful weekend would not have happened. Thank you to the school staff and the parents who assisted in numerous ways over the weekend, especially in preparing and running the Fete and preparing and running the displays that were enjoyed by all who attended the school on Saturday. The effort put in by everyone was very much appreciated.
